DAN’S DINER IN THE SPOTLIGHT

It’s been an exciting few weeks at Dan’s Diner! After being featured on APTN’s Chuck and the First People’s Kitchen, and having GlobalBC’s Jay Durant cover our diner on Global News, we’ve seen a fantastic increase in foot traffic as more people discover our unique diner and the transformative cause behind it.

On top of all this, we were thrilled to welcome the team from the popular Facebook group Eat New West to Dan’s Diner. Not only did they come by to sample our delicious food, but in the episode (which you can watch here) they also took the time to learn about our process of taking donated surplus food and repurposing it in our commercial kitchen into healthy meals at affordable prices.

The response from the local community was incredibly inspiring with many taking to the Facebook Group to share their love and support for our meals, our staff, and our cause.

It has been great to see our efforts get attention from the media and we hope to use this momentum to expand our reach and help more youth find our programs, as well as help more people facing food insecurity in the community.

As always, if you or someone you know is asking for counselling support or job-skills training, self-referral is quick and simple and can be done here. All of our programs and services are free of charge.
