Who Can Apply
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 19–25 years old
- Can legally work in Canada
- Are unemployed or underemployed
- Can safely lift boxes of up to 25lbs / 11kg
- Can stand for long periods
- Are receiving Income Assistance, PWD, PPMB, Hardship Assistance, or eligible Indigenous Income Assistance
- Proof of eligibility is required before acceptance into the program
What You Will Do
- Train as a delivery truck assistant (“swamper”)
- Attend the course full-time, Monday-to-Friday 8:45AM to 12:45PM
- Located at #150 – 131 11th Street in New Westminster (near Skytrain)
What You Will Learn
- How to load and unload a 3-tonne truck
- Sort and store food
- Prepare food orders
- Help with deliveries
- How to keep the Dan’s Diner social enterprise and the delivery truck clean and organized
