International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia

Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. Dan’s Legacy proudly stands in support of the LGBTQ2S+ community and we reaffirm our commitment to this year’s theme by ensuring that no one is left behind.

Roughly 20% of the youth that seek the support we offer via our trauma-informed counselling and wrap around programs identify as being a part of the LGBTQ2S+ community.

With this in mind, the team proactively looks for opportunities to broaden our collective understanding of the community via workshops and training days.

We have also provided specialized programming over the years, including our Queer Femme drop-in art workshops in East Vancouver, and the Trans Extravaganza that we held in January 2020.

Furthermore, we strive to have representation at all levels and are proud to have LGBTQ2S+ individuals among our staff and board members as we seek to reflect the youth clients we serve.

If you or someone you know within the LGBTQ2S+ community is asking for help, please visit our self-referral page.
