What a fantastic evening we had Dec 17 at the New Westminster Legion Branch #2 catering a Christmas dinner for the seniors and our youth clients.
The party was the idea of our ED Barb Coates and the Legion’s Operations Manager Michelle Lapre, who figured the two groups would enjoy meeting each other.
Many seniors and many of our youth clients live alone, and social isolation takes a huge toll on their mental health. The youth also say they would love to meet mentors in the community, and the seniors loved the idea.
Everyone loved the meal prepared by our Dan’s Diner team which featured a full Christmas meal with all the fixings…plus our famous Mac & Cheese!!
We’d like to thank the Legion for its incredible support of our cause, and look forward to more festive get togethers soon – amazing what can be accomplished when we work together!
